In a low-scoring game between the Spokane Selects and the Quebec Fighting Quakers, pitcher Rich Mack was the difference-maker. The Spokane left-hander was tough as nails in the 2-1 Selects win. Justin Brownlee recorded the save, his 3rd. The win puts the Selects at 50-46, while the Fighting Quakers drop to 51-45.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Selects had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the top of the third, when first baseman Ian McKibbins hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Nick Beck and made the score 2-0, Selects. McKibbins was 1-3 with a walk.
"Scoring was at a premium tonight," Mack said.
