Bobcats Need Extra Innings to Top Purple Wave, 6-4
|
Ballpark of Walnut Park did not lack for drama.
Due in part to designated hitter Andy Sklar, the Walnut Park Bobcats chopped down the New Rochelle Purple Wave, 6-4, in 13 innings. Sklar hit 3 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring three times. Keith Bader, now 3-0, was credited with the win in 1 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 1 and walking 0.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the 13th. With one out, Sklar hit a sinker from Jimmy Carr for a 2-run home run. The Bobcats, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"Every time you put a 'W' on the board is always good," said Sklar.
Walnut Park is 52-44 and New Rochelle, with the loss, 55-41.
