Fremont Slaps 4-1 Loss on Westwood
|
Josh Riese, who is tied for 10th in the StC with a 1.08 WHIP, imposed his will on the Bruins from the get-go. Relying mainly on his curveball, the left-hander spearheaded the 4-1 Fremont triumph. Riese, now 6-3, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Kasey Acree, credited with the save, is now 13 for 16 in save opportunities.
Fremont took the lead, 4-1, on Tyler Reese's 10th home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off Westwood pitcher Paul Kreger in the bottom of the eighth.
"Josh giving us the start that he did was huge," said Fremont manager Elias Nunez.
The Marshalls improved to 53-43.
