Z's Come Back Late to Clip Oaks
The Ann Arbor Z's overcame a good performance by Orono designated hitter Tony Gallegos to knock off Orono, 5-4, at University of Maine Stadium. Gallegos went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Mike Heustess picked up the win in relief for Ann Arbor, while Kevin Weber took the loss. Brian Finkel earned the save, his 2nd in 2 tries.

The outcome turned when Steve Post came to bat in the top of the eighth. With one out and the bases empty, the Ann Arbor third baseman hit a solo home run. It gave his team the lead and helped them secure the win.

Post said his wife shared good advice with him before the game. "She said, 'Don't allow this game to make you mad.' When I thought about it, I realized this is just a game. I was able to relax at the plate."

The Z's raised their record to 41-52.
