Crawdads Take Tight Tango, 3-2
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Hickory Crawdads and the Quebec Fighting Quakers, pitcher Chad Bendon was the difference between victory and defeat. The Hickory right-hander earned kudos in the 3-2 Crawdads win. Travis Erb was credited with the save, his 14th in 14 tries. The win for the Crawdads raised their record to 55-38.
Hickory used the timely hitting of Randy Bunn to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Crawdads on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"It's about putting our team in the best position to win ballgames," said Bendon.
