The Walnut Park Bobcats took on the Denver Pilots at Ballpark of Walnut Park.

The Walnut Park Bobcats defeated the Denver Pilots, 9-3. Second Baseman Jeff Newingham deserved a large share of the credit. Newingham went 2 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Bobcats. Jason Gaiser picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-1. David Fry, who is tied for 9th in the StC in strikeouts with 93, was tagged with the loss.

With the game tied, 3-3, in the bottom of the fifth, Newingham had a key at-bat for Walnut Park. With runners on 1st and 3rd, Newingham hit a run-scoring single off David Fry, making the score 4-3, Bobcats.

"I'm proud of the way we took care of business and got the 'W' today," Newingham told the Walnut Park Daily News. "Whatever it takes."

Walnut Park is in third place in the Stripes Conference West Division with a record of 50-42.
