Crawdads Earn Win with Late Rally
|
The Hickory Crawdads took Quebec pitcher Edwin Rincones's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Toros Ballpark. The final score had Hickory getting past the Fighting Quakers, 4-3. Rincones went 5.1 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 6. Hickory pitcher Carlos Pardo earned the win, hiking his record to 3-1. Tommy LaBiche suffered the loss. Travis Erb, credited with the save, is now 13 for 13 in save opportunities.
With the bases empty and no one out in the top of the eighth inning, second baseman Ty Beckford delivered big for the Crawdads. Hickory was trailing 3-2 when he belted a solo home run.
Beckford called the win "a collective effort."
Hickory raised its record to 54-38 with the win.
