Crawdads Squeeze Out Win in Pitching Duel
In a well-pitched game between the Hickory Crawdads and the Ann Arbor Z's, pitcher Chris Verellen was fantastic. The Hickory right-hander helped his team secure the win, 1-0. Verellen picked up the win for Hickory, going 6 innings. He gave up no runs on 2 hits. He now sports a record of 6-6. The Crawdads now own a record of 54-36.

The Crawdads got a big at-bat from right fielder Danny Lebron. For the game, Lebron went 1 for 4 with a double. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 4th double of the season gave Hickory a 1-0 lead.

"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Lebron.
