Hickory pitcher Frank Sarabia did his part in helping his team defeat the Ann Arbor Z's, 1-0. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. The winner was Hickory reliever Dan Mills, now 2-0. The loser was Alex Holle. With the win, Hickory upped its record to 53-36.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Hickory third baseman Ty Beckford, facing Alex Holle, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Crawdads the 1-0 win.

Hickory manager Ray Sanchez praised his team's "businesslike approach."
