Fans watched the Ann Arbor Z's and the Hickory Crawdads fight to the finish.

Ann Arbor Z's starter Dionísio Manteigueiro hurled his team past the Hickory Crawdads, 2-1. Ann Arbor reliever Jimmy Carr got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Jeremiah Porter was tagged with the loss. Chris Runte got the save, the 17th for him this season.

Had Pat Bell not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Bell hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Z's.

"Clutch hitting plus clutch pitching usually equals a win," said Bell.

The Z's raised their record to 34-54.
