Hickory Tacks 3-2 Loss on Ann Arbor
In a tight tilt between the Hickory Crawdads and the Ann Arbor Z's, Jesus Howell was the deciding factor. The Hickory right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Howell, now 5-2, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 8, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. With the win, Hickory upped its record to 50-39.

Hickory used the timely hitting of Mike Maynard to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Crawdads on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"When Jesus is on, he can really move the ball around," said Hickory manager Ray Sanchez.
