The skies opened up and the rain fell at Ballpark of Lexington.

The Walnut Park Bobcats got a sterling performance from pitcher Beau Larson, but the New Rochelle Purple Wave still prevailed, 6-4. Larson threw 6.1 innings of 2-hit ball. Sean Harris, 4-2, earned the win in relief. He allowed 4 runs on 5 hits in 1.2 innings. The save went to Ron Lombardi, number 7 for him.

Gabe Allen was 1-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for New Rochelle. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Allen had a clutch at-bat. Facing Walnut Park hurler Tommy Swift, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to give the Purple Wave a 1-0 lead.

"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Allen.

With the win, New Rochelle has a record of 43-45. Walnut Park falls to 47-41.
