Hickory Crawdads starter Matt Schapp turned in an exceptional performance against the Ann Arbor Z's at Crawdad Park, resulting in a Hickory win, 3-0. Schapp got the win, improving to 9-2. He gave up 3 hits and walked 3 over 5.2 innings. He allowed no runs. Jonathan Brey sewed up the save, his 8th.

Chris Beasley did the little things right to help the team against the Z's. In the bottom of the first inning, he reached on an error by the C, driving in 2 runs, putting Hickory in front, 2-0.

"It was just a matter of executing," said Hickory manager Ray Sanchez.

Hickory has now won 6 games in a row.
