Spokane pitcher Morgan Jenkins had a large part in his team subduing the Fremont Marshalls, 3-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. Rich Whiteside notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. His record now sits at 1-0. Today's win puts Spokane at 52-37, while Fremont falls to 49-40.

The Selects got a big hit from second baseman Bobby Butler. In the bottom of the sixth, Butler smacked a 2-run double off Fremont pitcher Donnie Marcus. It was his 16th double of the season. Suddenly, the Selects were ahead, 3-2.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Butler.
