Purple Wave Rally Late to Nip Aces
|
Fans watched the New Rochelle Purple Wave and the Quebec Aces fight to the finish.
The New Rochelle Purple Wave, despite a fine performance by Quebec pitcher Justin Hesley, grabbed a 3-2 win at Ballpark of Lexington. Hesley allowed 1 run over 6 innings. New Rochelle reliever Marcos Rosas picked up the win, raising his record to 2-0. Jason Henley was tagged with the loss.
Timely hitting helped the Purple Wave beat the Aces. Prime example: the two-out single Jim Adams registered in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Jason Henley, Adams gave his team the lead, 3-2, when he hit a run-scoring single.
"I just tried to make good contact," said Adams.
The Purple Wave improved their record to 56-30 with the win over Quebec.
