At Jackie Robinson Stadium, the Westwood Bruins and Palm Springs Heat were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Riding the 3-hit performance of the 27-year old shortstop Matt Evert, the Palm Springs Heat defeated the Westwood Bruins, 8-2. Michael Hatten earned the save for Palm Springs.

Palm Springs used the clutch hitting of Clay Tucker to capture the win. The catcher drilled a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Heat the lead, 6-2. For the game, Tucker had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.

"They just got us," said Westwood manager Hasan Raif, "and that's all I can say."

With this game in the books, Palm Springs is 37-50, Westwood 43-44.
