McCain Excels in 7-6 Spokane Win
|
The Spokane Selects knocked off the Walnut Park Bobcats, 7-6, at Ballpark of Walnut Park. Marc McCain was a big reason Spokane won. The designated hitter went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. The winner in relief was Rich Sargent. He is now 1-0. The left-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 1.2 innings. Tyler Doss closed the game out for Spokane, earning his 12th save.
Spokane relied on the hitting of Dustin Andrews to pick up the win. The second baseman ripped a bases-clearing triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Selects on top, 6-2. For the game, Andrews had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We got the victory," said Andrews. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
