The Quebec Aces took Hickory pitcher Jesus Howell's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Belmont Park. The final score had Quebec getting past the Crawdads, 2-1. Howell went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 8. Ken Springer closed out the game, earning his 1st save. After today's action, Quebec sits at 43-40; Hickory slips to 46-37.
Quebec took control in the bottom of the seventh. With no one out and a runner on 3rd, Mike Johnson hit a run-scoring single to make it 2-1, Aces.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Johnson said.
