Crawdads Jolt Aces, 6-3, with Late Rally

Hickory and Quebec duked it out and the Crawdads came out victorious.
The Quebec Aces got a sterling performance from pitcher Brent Stedronsky, but the Hickory Crawdads still prevailed, 6-3. Stedronsky threw 6.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The win went to Mike Deadrick in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Travis Espinoza took the loss.
Chris Boyd came through with a big-time hit for Hickory. The left fielder smacked a grand slam home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 6-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"It was a team effort and I thought the guys had a good plan and approach," said Boyd after the game.
Hickory has run its win streak to 4 consecutive.
