The New Rochelle Purple Wave got a good effort from starter Brian Breen in defeating the Ann Arbor Z's at Ballpark of Lexington. The final score was 3-2. Breen, now 10-4, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 1 hit, while striking out 8, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Michael Klee recorded his 1st save for New Rochelle.

The Z's had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Purple Wave going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old left fielder Dan Brewer came to the plate. Brewer hit a 3-run home run on a first pitch curveball from Ann Arbor hurler Pedro Benitez. It was Brewer's 4th home run of the year.

"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Bryan Gallegos.

The New Rochelle winning streak has reached 3 games.
