New Rochelle catcher Jeff Riemer had a 3-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Denver Pilots, 8-1. The winning streak has now reached 5 games for New Rochelle.

The Purple Wave got a big hit from left fielder Kevin Garber. Facing Denver pitcher Carlos Martinez in the bottom of the eighth, Garber pounded a 3-run home run to left. His 5th home run of the season put the Purple Wave ahead, 8-1.

"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Purple Wave manager Brent Boudreau, "I like our chances."
