The Quebec Fighting Quakers beat the Dillonvale Indians, 14-6, at Toros Ballpark. The Fighting Quakers got a fine performance from third baseman Tony Vela, who was 3-5 with 2 home runs and a double, while scoring 3 times and driving in 7. Andy Swift picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-7. Jesus Garcia was tagged with the loss. The Indians, now 23-59, have lost 5 straight.

Todd Stevens had a big grand slam home run for the Fighting Quakers in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Quebec leading 6-5 and the bases loaded, he got a splitter from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Stephen Keene and swatted a home run to center. It was his 1st home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Fighting Quakers ahead, 10-5.

"Everyone's trying too hard," said losing manager Markus Mensink. "If we learn to relax, we'll be fine."
