Starting pitcher Pat Daughtry gave the New Rochelle Purple Wave a rock-solid effort. The Grand Island, Nebraska native helped his team defeat the Ann Arbor Z's, 3-2, at Ballpark of Lexington. At 38-42, the Purple Wave find themselves in 4th place in the Stripes Conference East Division.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when New Rochelle left fielder Steve Nalbach, facing Jesse Keim, had a run-scoring strikeout. It gave the Purple Wave the 3-2 win.

"Big win," said Nalbach.
