Fans watched the Tucson Raccoons and the Spokane Selects fight to the finish.

The Raccoons faced a stiff challenge from Spokane pitcher Tim Sindt, but persevered to claim a win at Selects Ballpark. The final score was 2-1. Sindt went 5 innings and allowed no runs. Kyle Thompson sewed up the save, his 21st.

Tucson used a clutch hit from Dustin Roachell to get the win. The shortstop drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Raccoons ahead, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Tough loss," said Spokane manager Chris McLure. "Tough one to swallow."

With the win, Tucson goes to 40-40, while the Selects fall to 45-35.
