Selects Victors, 6-0, at Palm Springs
|
Spokane Selects starter Jon Clark kept the Palm Springs Heat hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-0 win. Clark, now 7-7, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 0, and allowing no runs. Palm Springs, at 33-46, has lost 4 straight.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Jaden Lewis? The Spokane right fielder had a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Selects on top, 1-0. For the game, Lewis had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Spokane manager Chris McLure.
