Pilots Get Clutch Win Versus Spokane
|
The Denver Pilots overcame a good performance by Spokane right fielder Eddie Mongold to knock off Spokane, 4-3, in 11 innings at Pilots Ballpark. Mongold slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Denver reliever Juan Santana picked up the win to move to 4-3. Tyler Doss suffered the loss. Denver is now 34-47, Spokane 45-36.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 3rd and one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when second baseman Aaron Carr, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2025 draft, grounded out, driving in 1 run. The Pilots went on to win.
"We did a lot of things right," said Carr.
