Fighting Quakers Lose, 6-5, in 10
The New Rochelle Purple Wave faced a tough opponent in Quebec pitcher Andy Swift, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Toros Ballpark by a final score of 6-5 in 10 innings. Swift went 5.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Ron Lombardi picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Chris McAuley suffered the loss. New Rochelle bumps their record to 54-26 with the win.

New Rochelle used the timely hitting of Jason Clare to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Purple Wave on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said New Rochelle manager Brent Boudreau.
