Starting pitcher Victor Luna was a major factor in the 4-0 Tucson Raccoons triumph over the Westwood Bruins. In 6.1 innings, Luna surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 0 and walking 4. He allowed no runs. With the win, Tucson goes to 33-47, while the Bruins fall to 46-34.

The Bruins had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Raccoons going into the top of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 21-year old catcher Dan Wheeler came to the plate. Wheeler hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch sinker from Westwood hurler Tom Balletta. It was Wheeler's 10th double of the year.
