The New Rochelle Purple Wave had to overcome a good performance from Spokane pitcher Aaron O'Brien to claim a 3-1 win at Ballpark of Lexington. O'Brien went 6.1 innings and allowed no runs. The win went to Mike Walter in relief, making him now 2-1. Mike Brown took the loss for Spokane. The save went to Chris Zuniga, number 1 for him.
New Rochelle took the lead, 3-1, on Jeff Mullinax's 6th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Spokane pitcher Mike Brown in the bottom of the eighth.
New Rochelle manager Brent Boudreau praised his team's "businesslike approach."
The wins continue to add up for New Rochelle. The latest makes it 8 in a row.
