5-2 Triumph Takes Orono to 47-30
|
No one was more impactful than Ken Gavin in the 5-2 Orono win over Palm Springs. Gavin, who leads the StC in total bases with 147, went 3-4 with 2 home runs and a double. D.J. Urbanek got the win, improving to 9-2. He pitched 7.2 innings, giving up 8 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 8 and walking 0. Picking up the save was Mike Poussard, his 9th.
Gavin had a big at-bat with the bases empty in the bottom of the first inning, when he hit a solo home run. The Oaks went on to win.
"This is a very good team," said Gavin. "We have the chance to do something special."
With the win, Orono has a record of 47-30. Palm Springs falls to 33-44.
