Selects Lose at Home, 4-2, to New Rochelle
|
The Spokane Selects went down to defeat to Ricky Valdez and his New Rochelle teammates. The final score was 4-2, in favor of the Purple Wave. Shane Edwards was credited with the save, his 4th in 4 tries. With the win, New Rochelle goes to 34-42, while the Selects fall to 43-33.
New Rochelle used the timely hitting of Kyle Nash to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Purple Wave on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I thought we played a nice game," Nash told the New Rochelle Today. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
