Bobcats Win, 6-5, in 13
|
Despite a great performance by Orono catcher Jeff Greathouse, the Walnut Park Bobcats defeated the Oaks by the score of 6-5 in 13 innings at Ballpark of Walnut Park. Greathouse went 3-5 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times. Walnut Park pitcher Jimmy Hunter got the win, upping his record to 6-1. Nick Horrocks got the loss. With the win, the Bobcats sit at 46-30.
The Bobcats got a clutch hit from right fielder Ron Cardwell. In the bottom of the 13th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Bobcats.
"On the outside I was calm," said Bobcats manager Hua Pian. "But inside I was a nervous wreck."
