Ann Arbor Gets 3-1 Win
|
The Ann Arbor Z's picked up a win at Raccoons Ballpark, knocking off the Tucson Raccoons, 3-1. Starting pitcher Justin Bunt was a big reason why. Bunt, now 5-8, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 6, walking 3, and allowing 1 run. Tomas Herrera closed the game out for Ann Arbor, earning his 1st save.
Ann Arbor used a well-timed hit by Cameron Stubbs to capture the win. The shortstop socked a run-scoring double in the top of the first inning to put the Z's ahead, 1-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Z's manager Bryan Gallegos, "I like our chances."
The 5th-place Z's own a record of 16-62.
