Fighting Quakers Bridle Purple Wave, 3-1

In a low-scoring contest between the Quebec Fighting Quakers and the New Rochelle Purple Wave, Mark Herrera, who is tied for 9th in the StC in strikeouts with 86, proved to be the difference. The Quebec right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Fighting Quakers win. Sean Rowe claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record stands at 2-0. The 4th-place Fighting Quakers now have a win-loss record of 42-35.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Fighting Quakers had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the sixth, when second baseman Seth Hardwick hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Brian Breen and made the score 2-1, Fighting Quakers. Hardwick was 3-3 with 3 singles.
Hardwick called the win a testament to his team's "tenacity."
