Carney Delivers Walk-Off Win for Crawdads
Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Hickory Crawdads got the win.

Dave Gerardo was superb against Randolph. The left-hander had a fastball that was virtually unhittable at times. The result was a Crawdads victory. The score was 3-2. With the win over Randolph, the Crawdads improved to 39-37.

Dan Carney was the walk-off hero for Hickory. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Crawdads catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Dave was throwing free and easy," said Hickory manager Ray Sanchez.
