The Tucson Raccoons had to overcome a big game from Ann Arbor second baseman Nick Rucker to leave Raccoons Ballpark with a victory. And they did, winning, 5-4. Rucker went 1-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Jesus Arechiga picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-3. Pedro Benitez, who is tied for 8th in the StC in wins with 6, was tagged with the loss. Getting the save was Kyle Thompson, his 19th.

Mike Waddell, who leads the StC in doubles with 22, helped out the Tucson cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a 2-run double. For the game, the third baseman was 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"Very pleased with the effort on our side," said Waddell.

The 'W' lifts Tucson's record to 38-36.
