Z's Need Extra Innings to Top Purple Wave, 3-0
|
Fans who congregated at Ballpark of Lexington were treated to extra-inning drama.
Ann Arbor Z's starter Dionísio Manteigueiro took the mound against the New Rochelle Purple Wave at Ballpark of Lexington; and, when all was said and done, the right-hander led his team to an extra-inning, 3-0 win. Ann Arbor is now 29-45, New Rochelle 33-41.
Ann Arbor used the timely hitting of Sam Berger to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put the Z's on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
Berger attributed the win to "everyone pulling their weight."
