The Palm Springs Heat downed the Hickory Crawdads, 3-0, at Heat Ballpark. Stellar pitching by Ted Kelly had a lot to do with it. The left-hander handcuffed his opponent all game. Ross Lefkowitz closed it out for Palm Springs, earning his 15th save. Their 33-42 record puts the Heat last in the Stripes Conference West Division.

Dustin Roachell had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for Palm Springs. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Palm Springs in front, 2-0.

Roachell said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
