The Hickory Crawdads beat the Palm Springs Heat, 6-4, in 10 innings. Hickory pitcher and Elfers, Florida, native Ray Fight led the way. Dan Mills snagged the win in relief. He goes to 4-1 on the season. Isiah Hamlin suffered the loss. Shane Kidd notched his 4th save in 5 chances.

Had Goh Ogata not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Ogata hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Crawdads.

"I felt good. I felt like I was locating the ball well and I was able to keep them off-balance," said Fight.

Hickory bumps their record to 40-33 with the win.
