Tucson Loss Tarnishes Fine Game by Miranda
Carlos Miranda did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Tucson Raccoons from being beaten, 8-6, to the New Rochelle Purple Wave at Raccoons Ballpark. Miranda slugged 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. The Purple Wave improved to 36-38.

New Rochelle used a well-timed hit by Mike Belsito to capture the win. The catcher socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Purple Wave ahead, 5-4. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Belsito said.
