Oaks Earn Clutch Win, 3-2
|
Orono turned a good effort from starting pitcher Matt Haselden into a win over the Quebec Aces at Belmont Park. The final score was 3-2 in 15 innings. The win was credited to Brian Treadway in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Rob Savo took the loss. The Orono winning streak has reached 3 games.
The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Aaron Nelson came to bat in the top of the 15th. Facing Quebec pitcher Rob Savo, he hit a 1-0 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Orono on top, 3-2.
"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Quebec manager Elias Nunez.
