Quebec Hands Westwood 3-1 Defeat
|
Jackie Robinson Stadium was the site of a tense game between the Westwood Bruins and Quebec Fighting Quakers.
Starting pitcher Chris Huyard did his part in helping the Quebec Fighting Quakers thwart the Westwood Bruins, 3-1. Huyard got the win, improving to 6-3. He gave up 5 hits and walked 1 over 6 innings. He allowed 1 run. Jose Ojeda was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 2 save opportunities.
In the top of the 5th, Quebec took the lead on a 2-run single by Dane Foley. At the time, the Fighting Quakers were trailing 1-0, but Foley's hit with two outs against Westwood pitcher Randy Lupton put them in front, 2-1.
"Chris kept his poise and got the job done," said Quebec manager Jeff Gray. "He was outstanding."
The Fighting Quakers now own a record of 43-29.
