Fighting Quakers 7-4 Losers to Palm Springs
|
Palm Springs designated hitter Jason Woody made his presence felt in the 7-4 Heat triumph over the Quebec Fighting Quakers. Woody was 1-1 with a home run. Fred Taylor, the winner, goes to 5-6. He allowed 4 runs on 9 hits, with 1 walk and 2 strikeouts over 6.1 innings. The save went to Isiah Hamlin, his 7th this season.
The Heat got a big at-bat from center fielder Eric Lilienthal. For the game, Lilienthal went 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 11th double of the season gave Palm Springs a 2-0 lead.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Woody.
Palm Springs is now 46-26, Quebec 35-37.
