University of Maine Stadium was the site of an exciting ballgame between the New Rochelle Purple Wave and Orono Oaks.
The New Rochelle Purple Wave topped the Orono Oaks, 4-3, in Stripes Conference action at University of Maine Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of New Rochelle pitcher Chris Zuniga. Ron Lombardi earned the save for New Rochelle, his 4th of the year.
New Rochelle used the hitting of Michael Nava to pick up the win. The right fielder clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Purple Wave on top, 4-3. For the game, Nava had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Nava, "one at-bat at a time."
New Rochelle is 33-38 and Orono, with the loss, 42-29.
