No one was more impactful than Steve Taylor in the 5-3 New Rochelle win over Orono. Taylor went 1-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Justin Berardi earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. His record is now 2-1. Ron Lombardi recorded the save for New Rochelle, his 1st of the season.

Had Jason Clare not delivered a key base hit in the top of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Clare hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-3, in favor of the Purple Wave.

"We ground out the win," said Taylor. "That's all that matters."

The Purple Wave lead the Stripes Conference East Division by 2 games.
