Crawdads Come Up Short at Orono, 5-4
The Orono Oaks turned back the Hickory Crawdads, 5-4, at University of Maine Stadium. Ken Gavin, in particular, had a fine performance. He was 2-3 with 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI. Orono occupies first place in the Stripes Conference East Division at 42-27.

Orono left fielder Mark Crawford made an impact. He drilled a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fourth. In the contest, Crawford went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles.
