Bobcats Win with Late Heroics
|
The Walnut Park Bobcats knocked off the Fremont Marshalls, 5-4, at Ballpark of Walnut Park. It took 11 innings. Ron Cardwell was a prime reason Walnut Park won. The right fielder was 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. Vinny Luna earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record is now 2-0. Walnut Park is first in the Stripes Conference West Division with a record of 39-29.
The Bobcats got a clutch hit from catcher Chris Hambright. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Bobcats.
"It feels good to get this one," Cardwell told the Walnut Park Observer.
