Whistlers Lose to Scorpions, 9-4
Bobby Tapia was a major factor in the 9-4 Syracuse win over Boston. The Scorpions third baseman went 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. The win gives the Scorpions a record of 22-43.

The Whistlers had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Scorpions going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the former first round draft pick Jason Mata came to the plate. Mata hit a 3-run home run on a first pitch slider from Boston hurler Josh Cowels. It was Mata's 6th home run of the year.

"We maximized our offense today," said Syracuse skipper Ricardo Lopez. "That makes everyone's life easier."
