Behind a solid performance from designated hitter Malcolm Babcock, the New Rochelle Purple Wave defeated the Orono Oaks, 5-2. Babcock was 2-4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 and driving in 4 for the Purple Wave. Brian Breen earned the win to go to 6-5. He allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, with 1 walk and 7 strikeouts in 6.2 innings of work. The second-place Oaks have lost 5 consecutive games.

Babcock had a key at-bat for New Rochelle in the top of the first. With the bases loaded, he hit a grand slam home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and gave New Rochelle an early 4-0 lead.
