New Rochelle Tacks 3-2 Loss on Quebec
|
The New Rochelle Purple Wave racked up a win at Ballpark of Lexington, bumping off the Quebec Aces, 3-2. Miguel Berrios, who started for New Rochelle, pitched effectively for his team. New Rochelle reliever Ron Lombardi was the winner. His record is now 4-1. The losing pitcher was Jonathan Harvey. New Rochelle is now 31-36, Quebec 34-33.
New Rochelle took advantage of an error in the bottom of the eighth inning. The game was tied, 2-2, when Dave Acosta hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Purple Wave in front, 3-2.
"You have to win 1-0, 3-2, 2-1 games if you want to get to where you want to go," said Purple Wave manager Brent Boudreau.
