Bobcats Deal Raccoons 7-4 Setback
|
The Walnut Park Bobcats topped the Tucson Raccoons, 7-4, at Ballpark of Walnut Park. Walnut Park right fielder Chris Lutz was a spark plug for the offense. He went 2-4 with 2 home runs. Walnut Park pitcher Mike Wroten earned the win, hiking his record to 7-6. Luis Mora suffered the loss. Tommy Swift recorded the save, his 20th.
Walnut Park took a 6-3 lead on Andy Sklar's 18th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which Sklar hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Tucson pitcher Luis Mora visibly frustrated.
"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Sklar told the Walnut Park Gazette.
The second-place Bobcats bumped their record to 39-28.
