The Palm Springs Heat picked up a win at Heat Ballpark, taking down the Ann Arbor Z's, 2-1. Starting pitcher Victor Luna was a big reason why. The Heat move to 28-38 with the win, while the Z's drop to 27-39.

The climactic moment came in the bottom of the tenth for Palm Springs. That's when 27-year old shortstop Matt Evert hit a solo home run off Andrew Tanner to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.

"Tough ballgame, tough loss," said Ann Arbor manager Mike Boren.
