Crawdad Park was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Randolph Prairie Thunder and Hickory Crawdads.

The Randolph Prairie Thunder topped the Hickory Crawdads, 5-4, in Stripes Conference action at Crawdad Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Randolph pitcher Joaquin Lira. Lira yielded 4 runs over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 6, and struck out 7. His record improves to 11-2. Jarrod Threats was called on to finish, recording his 21st save.

Randolph used the timely hitting of Matt Gaylord to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Prairie Thunder on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

In postgame comments to the Randolph Bulletin, Gaylord said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."

Randolph leads the Stripes Conference East Division by 8½ games.
